Looking back to my entire experience in Japan, what I miss
second to my friends is definitely Japanese Food! Well, maybe not all the food
as there was definitely some food I could barely keep down!
The biggest difference that I found was how much better
Japanese fast food was compared to North American. Better not only in taste,
but also with regards to health. Most fast food places sell mainly noodle and
rice based dishes with a ride away of options to add to it. A really cool feature
that I miss is being able to order my entire meal from a vending machine at the
front of the store. This is something that definitely has to be brought into
western cultures!
As for my ultimate favourite foods, they would have to be:
|
Nabe - Various meats and vegetables in broth |
|
Katsu Kare - Fried pork with Curry sauce over rice |
|
Tempura Udon - Tempura Srimp in broth with noodles |
As for food I didn't particularly like,it mostly had to do with under cooked meats. And I don't mean a rare steak. If you say you're a fan or slightly rare meat, try a rare chicken thigh and then get back to me.
